Lawn mower buyers: what they bought, where, and why
Six questions, asked of people whose AI found a lawn mower order in their email from the last 12 months. Each answer says where it came from, and you only ever see combined results.

- Questions

- Weighting

How to read the labels
- Proven:
- read from an email whose signature we checked, so it came from the store.
- From records:
- the AI named the receipts or order emails it used, and every check passed.
- Said by the person:
- they answered it themselves.
- Estimated:
- the AI's judgement from what it knows about them, only for questions about opinions.
- Not counted:
- “can't tell”, answers about purchases without records, and anything that failed a check.
- From people Stripe has checked:
- members who've verified who they are with Stripe to get paid.

How this was collected
Who answered
Moonlit members in the US whose AI found a lawn mower order from the last 12 months. They chose to join and connect their own AI, so they aren't a random sample of US adults, and these results aren't weighted.
How they answered
The questions went to each member's own AI. It answered from what it can already see, like order confirmations and receipts in their email, showed the person its drafts and what each paid, and sent only what they approved. People could also answer themselves, or skip.
What was checked
Every answer is graded before it counts. For purchases, the AI names the emails it read; we check them, and for some we check the email's signature. Answers that don't hold up aren't counted or paid.
What you never get
Anyone's name, email or which answer was theirs. Results from a group smaller than 5 aren't shown, like the reel mowers in question 1. Written answers come word for word, in random order.
